It's an ALL HALLE post!!

So much has been going on in Halle's life lately that I thought she deserved a post all her own. She proved her readiness to own a hamster by doing her homework willingly from September to December and she bought the whole set up and critter with her own saved-up funds. She was so excited to go pick out her hamster, which she named Skittles. She chose a short-haired female and made sure to hold her and determine her nature prior to the purchase. We brought her home to the previously purchased and set up cage in Halle's room.
She is quite cute...
Kyle wants to hold Skittles more than Halle would like, but he does pretty well with her... Heath is very cute with her. Whenever he likes something/someone, he puts his little head down on them/it and cuddles with it. He is a sweet child.
The first night with the hamster was a little sleep-depriving. She wanted to run on her oh-so-loud wheel and got moved from Halle's room to the upstairs bathroom (doors closed), and finally to the downstairs bathroom. The next day I googled silent hamster wheel and luckily someone had already invented it and we got one (called the "silent spinner" from PetCo). It has been a life-saver and everyone is sleeping again. Skittles loves all of the fresh fruits and veggies we have been feeding her.

The next exciting event in Halle's life was getting her first phase of braces. We went to a classmate of Andy's and mine, Dr. Andrea Laidlaw. Halle did really well with it, except maybe for the separators, which made her teeth really sore for the week before getting the braces on (some of you may remember the pain) she chose pink rubber bands around the brackets.
Here she is before...
During...(she will love me for this!)and after! (with Dr. Laidlaw) BEFORE and AFTER

Great pictures as usual. The one of Skittles in his box is adorable. Smart to try out the hamsters first to see who is the friendliest. We should have done that with with Jeff's hamster that turned out to be a "spawn" of the devil--even bit Bob's hand when he reached for him in the middle of the night in our closet--down the hall from Jeff's room. I think you get the picture--there was no earthly way to keep that spawn in his cage. What a monster!

Along with the hamster, I am one of the lucky ones upon whom Heath rests his darling head. He is indeed a sweet child.......

Wow, that made me cringe a little to see her mouth like that! What a brave girl! It also reminded me that I want to come and get my teeth whitened!! Soon! :)

Awe what a sweetheart! I remember when I got my braces on, she looks like she is a good sport about it! Though she's probably much more comfortable in a dental office than most kids. :)
